Backgound
The budget consultation included:

- An information/questionnaire booklet
- An online questionnaire (same as booklet)
- A number of town centre exhibitions
- A number community workshops
- A range of promotion to promote above

Results Summary
Exhibitions

Approximately 123 people attended the exhibitions (Lancaster approx 77 Morecambe approx 46)

Exhibition staff feedback suggests that many residents wanted to talk about gritting, refuse collections, toilets, recycling of plastics and polystyrene, keeping young people active and off the streets, dog mess, maintaining spending but running services more efficiently. Feedback on questionnaire design will be considered for future consultations.

Workshops

A total of 36 residents attended the workshops (Lancaster 22 Morecambe 14)

Questionnaire

303 questionnaires were completed (116 online 187 paper)

What Next
Your views will be fed back to the council’s Cabinet meeting on 19 January 2010. Having considered the feedback, Cabinet will meet again on 16 February 2010 to finalise its budget recommendations and annual increase in Council Tax to present to Full Council on 3 March 2010 for approval.
